I came across this whole idea because I went to Ephraim with my brother, Chris, on a work trip.
We'd left early in the morning and didn't eat breakfast before we left. It was a two hour drive to Ephraim, and after setting the sample pumps (that was the job to do), we had to wait a few hours for the pumps to run, so we decided to go get breakfast.
Ephraim is a small town, and we didn't have many options at 8:00 in the morning. As we drove down main street, what came into sight? The Golden Arches.
I'm not a fan of fast food, but I did want to use the free wi-fi internet to get some stuff done, so we ate fast food for breakfast. I'm usually pretty particular about what I eat especially for breakfast, trying to be as healthy as possible, so an egg sandwich, a burrito and hash browns off the dollar menu didn't make my body happy. I don't know if any of you feel this way after fast food, but I just felt like: BLAGH.
That's the best word I can think of to describe it.
It just feels like my body is full of stuff, but no nutrition. Basically it was like eating cardboard (only it tasted a whole ton better).
After breakfast, I began a texting conversation with a dear friend, Aubrey, with whom I always have amazing personal conversations, she has an amazing mind! And for the rest of the morning we texted back and forth about what I was studying and thinking and her thoughts, and let me tell you we came up with some of the coolest Epiphanies ever.
The weird part was that after we were done, even though I had just had one of the coolest conversations in the world, I didn't feel satisfied or nourished. I felt like BLAGH.
Then I started a brain-search: Why?
Why did I feel so unsatisfied after having such a delicious conversation?
Why did I feel exactly like I had after eating Fast-Food?
Here is my discovery:
